cardiopulmonary disease and lung cancer can be caused by pollution as well as asthma, even when you factor in smoking and obesity, the main problem is pollution.

Scientists have shown that hazardous chemicals released in some forms of pollution have been evident in the blood samples of over 200 types of diseases (including 37 types of cancer), meaning they may be linked.

Air pollution exposure can lead to cardiovascular diseases such as heart disease and stroke. This is a serious situation because almost everyone is exposed to foul air over the spand of a lifetime.

  24. Pollutants can cause diseases, including cancer, lupus, immune diseases, allergies, and asthma. Higher levels of background radiation have led to an increased incidence of cancer and mortality associated with it worldwide. Some illnesses are named for the places where specific pollutants were first formally implicated. One example is Minamata disease, which is caused by organic mercury compounds.
Bad air quality can kill. Ozone pollution can cause sore throats, inflammation, chest pain and congestion. Oil spills can cause skin irritations and rashes. Noise pollution induces hearing loss, high blood pressure, stress and sleep disturbance.
Contamination caused by pollution can have damaging effects in the brain and central nervous system. Studies have shown that brain of animals actually shrink from prolonged exposure to contaminants in the environment.

  26. A cancer that can make many people vulnerable, especially women, due to pollution is breast cancer. There are at least traces of many toxic chemicals like mercury, chromium & lead in this air, and can make us especially vulnerable to it.

  28. I think that things such as asthma and immune diseases are affected by polution and climate change, because if you're breathing in polluted air, your body isn't going to be able to filter out all of the pollutants.

fjo128 said that studies have shown that brain of animals actually shrink from prolonged exposure to contaminants in the environment.... i didn't know that.
