Government workers, statiticians, market researchers, and educational researchers study statistics about populations to understand relationships between factors. You will be doing some research in excel to compare some statistics in 10 countries. For example, you may want to look at the following statistics that you think are related:
Obesity rate:
Life expectancy:
Consumption of soda:
# of Mcdonalds per capita:
Average income:
What are 2 of the statistics that you will be researching?

Two of the statistics I will be researching will be obesity rates in the US and life expectancy in the US. They could be related because if someone is obese they have a higher chance of dying?
ReplyDelete2 of the statistics i will be researching is pollution and death by asthma. They are both related because pollution can have a great effect of those who have asthma.
ReplyDeleteTwo statistics I'll be researching are crime and poverty. Countries with high rates of poverty usually have more crime.
ReplyDelete2 of the statistics I will be researching are mortality rates per capita due to natural disasters (like volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes), and mortality rates due per capita due to cancer or another serious health issue. These could be related because some natural disasters can cause cancer or another health issue in someone overtime, and also because some natural disasters can cause serious damage to not just your home, but an entire village, causing severe damage everywhere (like a tsunami or typhoon.).

ReplyDeleteOne statistic I will look at is Murders, and the other is suicides. I think their related because some people may kill them selves because they think they are going to be killed in the first place. I also think so because people who want to die may ask someone to do it for them.

ReplyDeleteI am comparing Obesity and the # of Mcdonalds per capita. I think these will be related because mcdonalds is not a healthy fast food resturant. This causes people to gain weight when they go there. Also if people go to mcdonalds often more mcdonalds will be built.

Poverty is the condition of lacking basic human needs such as nutrition, clean water, health care, clothing, and shelter because of the inability to afford them.[1] This is also referred to as absolute poverty or destitution.[1] Relative poverty is the condition of having fewer resources or less income than others within a society or country, or compared to worldwide averages.[1]
ReplyDeleteDrugs are related to crime in multiple ways. Most directly, it is a crime to use, possess, manufacture, or distribute drugs classified as having a potential for abuse (such as cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and amphetamines). Drugs are also related to crime through the effects they have on the user's behavior and by generating violence and other illegal activity in connection with drug trafficking. The chart below summarizes the various ways that drugs and crime are related.
ReplyDeleteDrugs are related to crime because drugs take control of your decision making and what you do. Once you get addicted to drugs: lets say heroin, all you think about is that drugs and ho0w you are going to get your next fix. If you have to you will rob people, commit burgeraly, and to the most extreme extent if some one wont give you what you want you could accidently kill someone because you need that drug.
ReplyDeleteI am researching Abortions Per Capita, Birth Rate, Death Rate, Infant Mortality Rate, Fertility Rate, and Unemployment Percentages. All of these are related because they affect the way a person's lifestyle with a child involved.
